I have a 5906 TC that sometimes fails to lock the slide open after the last shot. I have only shot it about 100 rounds since I bought It NIB. Before firing it the first time, I lubed it and checked it over, It occurs on both of the mags that I have. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Makilly

Check with the mags empty to see if they lock back manually, if not then problem is the mag/follower/spring etc.
If they lock back every time manually, then perhaps your ammo isnt pushing the slide far enough to the rear or you loosen your wrist occasionally.
My wife shot a PPC 9 5" for years with 105 gr ammo,we had to cut a coil off a regular recoil spring so it would lock back reliably.
Just curious are you overseas,Ive been looking for a Target Champion in the US as S/W no longer makes PPC 9s,and I want one with regular Bomar type sights. Good Luck, Bob

What CALREB said. Try ammo that's a little more energetic or a slightly lighter recoil spring. I don't have a PPC 9, but do have 4" and 5" PC 5906s. I have also owned a 952 and 952 -1. Winchester white box 115 grain and Federal American Eagle 124 grain both fall practically at my feet upon extraction with all of these 5" guns. I have not had any malfunctions, but if this ammo were loaded at all lighter, I believe my guns would have failure to lock back and other functioning issues. Now with NATO ball, or any of the factory +P ammo, no problems at all. The PC guns are closely fitted, and don't come with extra light recoil springs or lightened slides and the issue you describe is not unusual with lightly loaded/"target" type ammo in the 5" guns... ymmv

ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE.

THE SLIDE STOP MAY NEED TO BE " HARD FIT".

HOLDING THE GUN LOOK DOWN FROM THE TOP AT THE SLIDE STOP. IT SHOULD BE PARALLEL TO THE FRAME. IF IT IS ANGLED ; PIN SIDE CLOSER TO THE FRAME THAN THE LOCKING TAB. IT NEEDS TO BE HARD FIT. HARD FITTING THE SLIDE STOP IS THE LAST STEP IN THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS. JP
