I saw an ad for Sunday's 60 Minutes tonight that stated the show would be doing a story on the gun & ammo buying frenzy. I'm sure it will be as fair and well balanced as the POS story 20/20 did Friday night.

These are examples of the only way the libtards in the MSM can strike back. Anything for ratings. Trying to strike fear into the hearts of the misinformed. It's what they do. Hey, wait a minute! That's how they got this ******* elected as POTUS!

They are probably under a lot of pressure to get people to stop arming themselves. I wonder who could be behind the scenes pushing for this type programming. Maybe certain powerful people who hate the idea of an armed citizenry. Hmmmmmm...

I don't think that anybody except the producers are behind the scenes pushing this junk.We had plenty of these types of shows in the last eight years with a gun friendly (or at least neutral) administration. The producers and personalitys on these shows seem to be mostly anti-gun.

The only way to beat 60 minutes is to ignore them. If enough people don't watch they will go by the wayside. It's working with the newspapers! I haven't watched since the blew up the pick-up truck trying to convince the US that GM was making vehicles that burned after crashes.

Wrong.

A lot of my gun-owning buddies and I will be reviewing the DVR recording of that specious broadcast (20/20) tomorrow, as well as tonight's "steaming pile of journalism" on 60 minutes, and making a complete list of their advertisers and sponsors, and letting the aforementioned advertisers and sponsors know WHY we aren't buying their products and services, and exactly WHO is responsible for it.

Like Patton said, if ya want their attention, hit 'em in the wallet.

Best Assault Weapon I know of in a capitalist society.

Hi Doc,
That seems like an excellent idea.
I'll make you a deal. You list the advertisers and I'll promise to write them.
I missed the 60 Minutes show and can't recall any from the 20/20 program.
Thanks
Mike

You are spot on sir. I use the block feature on all the alphbet news channels so I don't have to see them as I pass by channel surfing. There is no good reason to watch their propaganda. Anyone young enough to just be getting into this, I suggest you watch a show note the bias, that's what you'll get everytime. It'll take time but if enough people drop out and tune out (to steal a phrase) they will go away, and be replaced by something people will watch.

I would bet the two shows this week, 60 Minutes/20-20, will result in several hundred thousand NRA renewals and new memberships, as well as the same for state progun organizations.

I just renewed NRA for two years in January, so I intend to send a small check, say $25 this month, and hopefully that much more each month. I will also renew my Georgiacarry.org membership.

One thing they did acknowledge on the 60 Minutes segment was that there is not nearly the public support for new gun control laws that there has been in the past. They cited the recent Gallup Poll that reflects that sentiment.

Most of that 20/20 show was pointless.

There was a segment showing people sitting in a classroom using paint rounds to defend themselves against an intruder. The problem was once the "intruder" stormed into the class and took out the teacher, they went right to the person 20/20 had given the gun to. The chances of that happening are slim. The people were using a larger auto loader that I personally wouldn't have used for concealed carry because of the large size, and 20/20 fitted them with HUGE long t-shirts that made it hard to reach the gun. Now I'm not saying I would have split second reflexes and could have my concealed .38 out and on the intruder in less than one second if surprised like that, but I do feel the exaggerated that.

They also showed kids (high school age I think) on a hidden camera encountering two guns and behaving like idiots. One looked down the barrel to see if the revolver was loaded. Obviously not the brightest kids.

I was cleaning my 642 while the show was on.

I did not watch either program and have no desire to but as a college student I have two roommates that claim to be pro gun who were talking about how concealed carry is stupid because the person with the gun was shot before she could get the gun out.

I finally convinced them that one, in a real situation someone is not going to fumble for their gun out in the open, second paint guns aren't as accurate as real weapons, and third many times just the site of a gun will cause the attacker to flee or in the case of crazed shooters planning to take themselves out they will go ahead and turn the gun on themselves.

A situation with a paint gun is completely different than a situation with a real gun no one can say what would have or should have happened until the situation comes up, but if someone busts into my classroom with a gun I am going to feel a hell of alot better with a firearm to draw then trying to fight the attacker for his weapon. Classrooms are essentially death traps already, one entry point, as long as an attacker covers one entry point and no one is armed to fight back everyone in that room is most likely dead.

Personally I am more scared for my life sitting in a college classroom than I am walking through the rough part of town atleast in the rough part of town I have a fighting chance to fight or flee, in the classroom the only option I have is to fight and my odds suck.

Also did anybody get a list of those advertisers, I would like to send them all letters telling them why I will never buy their products again, especially in today's economic times that is a great idea/

Hi Nitesight,
Thanks a million for the list of advertisers.
I'm going to get a letter together and get it out to as many of these companies as I can today.
Thanks again
Mike

But, how many of you actually watched it? I did, and thought it was not so bad, due to the quick thinking, well prepared, and articulate gentleman from VA that was being interviewed. I tried to watch it from a neutral standpoint, as if I did not already have an agenda, and I think the show did no harm, maybe even some good, once again due to the excellent thoughts and responses from the man in VA. He is definitely the kind of person we want speaking in public on our behalf.

I agree. In fact, I thought Sen. Dianne Feinstein's comments reflected poorly on the gun grab bunch. She admitted the American public does not want more gun control, but, eventually, they're going to get it anyway.
