60 Minutes Story on the Gun & Ammo Buying Frenzy This Sun

Even Ms. Stahl from "60 Minutes" pointed out that the VT murderer didn't go through the so-called loophole and purchased his pistol(s) thru an FFL.

It was far less slanted than was the hour-long 20/20 presentation. They also allowed, as has been mentioned, dissenting arguments.

I never thought I would say this, but "60-Minutes" was not as offensive as they might have tried to be.

Having seen parts of both, I thought they were non-events filled with very lite and general facts that even a soccer mom would know by heart. I was encouraged by their reluctant admission that the desire for gun control was in serious decline. I only wish that Feinstein was the best that the Brady Bunch could muster. I saw a few of her sequences and I don;t think she could talk Sarah Brady out of buying a gun.

There were two men from VA interviewed but only one is a gentleman, Phil Van Cleave, Pres. of VCDL. The other was the former Supt. of VSP, Gerald Massengill, who helped Gov. Kaine cover up the incompetence which led to the VT tragedy and who decided that all the out of state vehicles at that gun show belonged to straw buyers when in fact many belonged to the show dealers. All in all, not as biased a program as I expected but certainly still the Brady Bunch at work.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Spot on, tripledipper. Van Cleave did great.

I missed the original broadcast because I was at work. Here's the ~12min gun part -- click on the top photo. It could have been much worse.

The VCDL has a very good newsletter and supplies email updates that you can subscribe to without joining. If you're a Virginian, you should certainly join.

I saw part of the "60 Minutes" story. They showed a background of swastikas at the gun show, and it didn't take them long at all to get around to their agenda..."the gun show loophole". I wouldn't have seen any of the program if the basketball game hadn't run over, as my wife and I were waiting for the "Amazing Race" to air. I recon that sports running over on Sundays really boost "60 Minutes" ratings. I know that I wouldn't have seen any of it otherwise. It is a nauseating bunch of CBS propaganda.
