Got a deal on a 610 in 10mm that I've always liked. I'm not a fan of moon clips, and gunshop I purchased from said the 610 was headspaced for moon clips and they had to be used.
I thought that was odd, and when I visited my normal gunshop, he said that the dealer that sold me the 610 was incorrect. It can be used w/o moon clips. He said you must use clips if firing 40 cal. in it, but not 10mm. Figured I'd verify with the experts here :) Thanks!

Shot mine this morning with and without moon clips. The without moon clips requires some thing to push out the cases that will not fall out when you tip up the muzzle.

How much was the deal? They usually aren't cheap.

$795 out the door - I was happy :) Thanks for the info., I have several S&W's that take moon clips that can be shot with or without and figured this one you could too. Thanks again!

Good price. Bought mine a little over a year ago for $750 OTD with the box. You will like it.

Yes, 10AUTO can be used without moonclips unless you used a bullet with a crimp groove/cannelure & you roll-crimped them, then you need moonclips.

Convert it to 10MAG for a bigger bang & shoot all three. ;)

Congrats on your find! :)

Yep, the above is all good, accurate advice, which also applies to my 940 and 625s. I've shot my 610s with and without clips, I prefer using the clips. A $10 to $20 demooning tool is your best friend, even with RIMZ clips.
