610

I'd like to get the 610, but for me to buy it, it will have to be made without the stupid lock! I'd even consider one with the 8 3/8" barrel, with Target sights, hammer (with firing pin mounted) and trigger like the older Mod 29's.

I absolutely love the 10mm cartridge, ballisticly it is superior to several cartridges, especially loaded to its potential. Ever since the introduction of the 40S&W, most commercial loadings were down loaded and very annemic performance wise!

I actually think S&W would sell far more pistols if they made the M&P10mm... :)

I have a 610 with the lock, along with several other S&W pistols with the locks. It has not caused me any issues, but I've only fired them a few 100 times each (the 642 about 500).

I do love my 610, especially since I can shoot the 40 S&W in it!

I have a 610-3 with a 6 1/2 inch barrel and it's heavy enough that I cannot concieve of the lock ever causing a problem. Those who don't want anything to do with the lock are free to feel that way, however IMO they are missing out on some splendid revolvers.

As for the 610, I don't want it brung back for just a short run, put it into the catalog PERMANENTLY. Please S&W, take a look at what rimmed ammo costs today, 40 caliber ammo for the 610 is just about 5 dollars a box CHEAPER than 38 spl. ammo for a 686 and if you look at the cost for 357 Magnum it's about 14 dollars a box difference. If you were really smart, you'd have the 610 in barrel lengths from 3 inches up to 6 1/2 inches in regular production and also start building a 9mm moon clip L frame.

A 9mm revolver just like my 610?

I'd be tempted to sell my semi-auto 9mm to purchase that!

I would buy a 610, as well as an M&P 10mm (if it could be made to withstand the round).

Me too! I am fairly new to the 10mm round and recently picked up a 1066, but I would sure love an M&P in 10mm.

The only glock I have ever considered is the 20sf, but I haven't gone there and probably won't.

Yup, a 610 without an IL is on my short list. It's too bad they cost a small fortune nowadays,,,
