I recently acquired this revolver and have a question considering its value. It's a 4in, 10 shot model 617-4 with the correct box. So that's the prelock model. I haven't seen any for sale recently and was curious of it's value? Condition is 98%

Around here $900 to $1000 would be the asking price.

It's a popular gun with those features, so I would not be surprised if it would go for more than $1000. But please shoot it before flipping.

How about a no-dash 617 - four-inch or six-inch? Worth more or less than the 617-4?

A 4" early 617 would probably go for more than a 617-4 - wood Combat stocks and all that. The two 6" variations would be close, there were lots of early 6" 617s.
I really like mine, that's for sure. I paid $580 about 4 years ago and that was a great deal. At the time that price seemed more in line with a used 6" -6 model. The 4" -4 is definitely more desirable. They don't seem to come up for sale often; no doubt most owners are VERY happy with them. Was yours through a shop, friend, or?
Added -- mine was from a gunshow at one of the first tables by the entrance, right as they opened. I knew it wouldn't be there very long so I made the deal on the spot. That's when I realized it was sitting on top of the original box.
