I have a 625 with 5" barrel. I've been slowly looking for a holster for it. Probably would prefer leather. Anyone have a suggestion? Is a cross draw better if you want to wear it while driving. It seems to me the 5" barrel in a straight holster would be impossible to sit in a car with. Maybe a cross draw isn't any better. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Bianchi makes a leather holster for the 5" 625-629 . It's not for concealed carry though. It's more of a hunting/field holster .

For a longer barreled N-Frame my preference is a crossdraw from either Lobo El Paso
Here's my 624 in a crossdraw I just received:

Kramer makes a hi-rise, strong side holster for the 5" N-frame. The one I have is comfortable enough on a stiff belt but its high cut front makes rapid presentation (drawing) difficult.

The HSR and PMK holsters from Milt Sparks are as good as holsters get. You have to pay, and wait for them but they are the best in my experience. I have an HSR for a 5" and it works fine either cross draw or as a speed holster on the strong side. The PMK is very comfortable and makes the 3.5" N-frame concealable, under the right outer garment. PS: Just remembered, the PMK is limited to 4" barrels. Never mind about that one. (smile)

There are a couple Kydex holsters that are adjustable so you could cant them to wear cross draw in a vehicle but you said leather so I won't go any further.
