Hi, I'm thinking I'm going to purchase a new gun tomorrow. And I'm considering the S&W 625JM. LGS has it for about $100 less than suggested retail.
Any negative comments about the gun? I'm also considering another 1911 but don't like chasing brass at the range. Revolvers and reloading go together so well (I don't reload 45acp yet). Is there another 45acp revolver I should be looking at too? Thanks for the help!

Go for it.
My 625 quickly became my favorite most used handgun.
So much so I then added another one.

The same will likely happen in your case, too.

If you are willing to consider buying used, then a 25-2 is a good choice.

But if you want new, go for the 625JM.

Here is my 625JM (sorry for the blurry pic) :

I am addicted. Get full moon clips, demooner and loading station from Dillon. 230 grain ball makes the fasted reload but inefficient self defense ammo. Watch Jerry Meculick do his 3 second reload on video and catch the bug to master this super setup. As to model I like: 5 1/2 inch Performance Center 625 with replaceable front sight, skeletized shroud and no underlug, 5 inch underlug 625, 4 inch Model 22 fixed sights 4 inch blued and Springfield Armory Commemorative, adjustable sights, 4 inch tapered barrel. The old 6 1/2 inch 1955 makes a great deer hunting gun. Which one to get? The next one! The scandium / titanium models are super light if weight is an issue. Complaints? Too addictive. The 1917 models are another branch of the tree I've never climbed. Had a triple lock in .45 Colt, probably a rebore from .45 ACP. Wish they had dual cylinders in both .45 Colt and .45 ACP

Fine shooter, they are very, very accurate with a variety of loads. Would have given my eye teeth for one of these when I was a street cop years ago.

I have both the 625JM and the 625PC 4" and the JM is more accurate. My JM is very tight chambered in all six chambers of the cylinder. The PC is very accurate.

If you want to splurge for several bucks more, check out the TR 325. It is the most accurate revolver I have ever owned. Definitely lighter than the the steel JM, but it is a phenomenal fighting revolver (as it was designed to be).
