The cylinder gap measures .006 on my 627-5 Pro Series and end shake measures .004. It's a new gun with only a about 300 rounds through it. I'll probably order a shim kit but my concern is the forcing cone apparently isn't square to the face of the cylinder. Using a feeler gauge from the left side the the gap is larger than from the right side. Is this very common and does it really matter? I know it bothers me. Is it something that S&W would fix? The gun has already been back to S&W to fix the messed up crown. Not too happy with the QC from the factory.
