I have a S&W 627-2 Gold Bead edition front sight with script written on bbl instead of block lettering. Its a 5" bbl 6 shot. I bought it new around 10-12 yrs ago. I have no idea what it may be worth today but I got an offer and had to run it by the forum. The guy will give me a Colt trooperLNIB 6" bbl 357, A Smith 65 in very good shape 4' Bbl, a Astra 6" 44 Mag blued (Near mint) a Charter arms Older model Stainless semi bobbed factory hammer(44 spec) plus $500 for this model 627. I don't know what my 627 is worth haven't seen the gold bead edition for sale anywhere. Its seems like a very good offer unless I'm missing something here. Thanx in advance.

627 Gold Bead edition!

Mule 88, I'm not sure what you have either but hopefully someone who does know will come along soon. In the mean time why not look through the the S&W Catalog, 3rd Edition for any information it may contain, also you could try the Blue Book of Gun Values, not for the actual value but any information that it has with regard to this special edition. From what he has offered in trade yours is not a normal edition! You could learn that you would be better off keeping the 627 instead of trying to get your money back by selling the several brands of handguns he has offered!

Since you could sell the C/A 44 and have the $500, sounds like you'd have your original investment back and have 3 pretty nice revolvers still. I wouldn't mind owning a mint blued Astra .44 and the M-65 and Trooper sound great too.
Not being able to value your 627, I'd sure be tempted to make that trade unless I had a real attachment to it.

627-2's are hard to find in either 5" or 6". I think the 5" is harder, at least it was to me, although my SKU code is different from yours. If you still have the box, the Spec Ord box will have four numbers that tell the date made. The first number is the year and the last three are the day of the year it was made.
I am not interested in any of the guns he wants to trade and don't know the value of them, but as others have stated, I would wait for cash. Too much hassle in selling the guns you don't want. You already have a much better gun than any he is peddling.
I would love to see pictures of your gun, as I am not familiar with the SKU number and the writing on the side.
A new unfired(outside the factory) version with the box and all the original contents will fetch a good bit of money these days.
