Recently I had this one put on layaway, but will be picking this up on May 3rd. I've been searching for a 4" model, and there it was under the glass. I know that it has that blasted keyhole, but I figure get a keyhole plug ordered as well.

Nice one there, my 66-8 has one as well and I never filled it either as it's been my EDC now for sometime. A nice set of wooden stocks for mine will dress it up.

Congrats! I bought one last year and love it. Hit it very lightly with some Flitz and picked up some factory wood conversion grips from usagunsandgear.com to dress it up. Found they are also comfortable to shoot.

You're looks awesome, love it.. thank for the showing.

The lock doesn't bother me at all. Some have it, some don't. I carry my guns and use them, I'm not a collector.

That 4" 629-6 is beautiful!

And what loads were those. 1460 is fairly speedy out of a 4".

Those were some 180gr PMC I shot up just to get the brass lol. But yes very speedy indeed.

I think my 629 might be a little on the fast side? Seems like its printing higher velocity than what I figured it would be based on book loads with longer barrels

Im shooting some 250GR Keith HPs at 1200 FPS with 13.5grs of HS6 right now. I think Im gunna bump it up to 14 grains and call it good enough which will likely land it in the 1250 range with some luck

Congrats, OP, nice piece! The lock doesn't bother me, either. I did not care for the look or the feel of the OEM stocks. I find this Hogue monogrip to be more satisfactory. The trigger, on this gun, is nothing short of amazing.
