That should be a -1 gun as I think all the no-dash 629s were pinned and recessed.

Either way, it is a VERY attractive gun at an equally attractive price.

There were a lot of 629's built at the end of the No Dash range - late N8xx,xxx - that have either the pinned barrel or a recessad cylinder. I have one of each.

I asked for the model number including the dash number and he just responded 629. Said the number on the gun is 118. I'm guessing that's part of the serial number

Alright. I don't know what he meant by the 118. Apparently the serial number is BPCOxxx. Any help with what that means?

It could be a transition gun with one or the or the P&R featues or it could be a 629-1.

No dash or a -1, that's a pretty good deal for that one. Any of those I see here (which is not a lot) in just good condition without the extras run around $600 OTD, which is what I gave for a 4" last spring.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's a 629-3. I don't have the ser. # book handy but based on the looks I think that the -3 appears to be about right. Nevertheless, it is still a good price, in California it would be an excellent price.

We have a winner. It is in fact a 629-3. I met with the guy this morning and was able to inspect it. Everything locks up nice and tight and the inside of the barrel looks brand new. I'll post up some pics this afternoon, but yeah, I went on a bought it.

So I did ok at $640 right?
