I’ve been collecting the S&W emergency kits and have all of them except for the 629. I recently came across two guns which claim to be my white whale. One is an an actual 629ES. The other is a Trail Boss which is claimed to be a 629ES and comes with the plastic box and accessories. The 629ES is going for approximately three times the cost of the Trail Boss. They are both unfired. I’m strongly leaning towards the 629ES despite its cost. Am I nuts?

If you are collecting, there is always a cost and only you know what that limit is.
If you are buying a tool, you normally have the luxury of shopping the price.
I have a few that I know I paid too much for and that never crosses my mind when handling and shooting them.
Then there is the standard forum answer…

Yes I did. I’ll pull her out of the safe and send some pics. I now have them all, including the 500, 460, 629ES and SW9VE.

Just poking around the internet I found all of those but the SW9VE one. Some are orange box / grip others are yellow.
