Any ideas what would keep the trigger from fully resetting on a 63? It get to just about there then hangs. If the transfer bar is left out it does fully reset. Don't know for sure if that has any contribution, just an observation.

It is a new to me gun I got in a trade so I don't know how long it has been doing it.

My initial reaction was, weak rebound spring. But if the trigger resets if you remove the hammer block, I'm less sure. Still, I'd try a stronger rebound spring first and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, I would then stone the hammer block and the rebound slide.

Replace the rebound slide spring, that should correct the problem. A common practice was to trim a coil or two off the spring to lighten the trigger pull. When you pull the spring out if it does not look the same on both ends, that's what happened.

Take care,
Steve

If yo want to lighten the trigger pull it is often done by cutting coils of the rebound spring. Never cut off any coils, but replace with a little lighter full length spring. I normally find a 14 lb spring works well.

I cleaned up the rebound slide and stretched the spring (waiting for the replacement spring to arrive) without result. I'll have to try to wait for the new spring to arrive.

The LGS had a spring in stock. It is a very heavy spring that makes the double action trigger pull horrible. The trigger will reset now with a slight stutter just before it does. When the crew returns from spring break I'll call and make arrangements to send it in.
