Anyone ream a 631 to .327?
I know the 632-1 were built on the J magnum frame and the 631 were built on the J frame and there is a big difference in pressure between the .32 H&R (21k) and the .327 federal (45k) magnums.
The nominal cylinder length of the 631 (1.44" according to SW Catalog, 4th ed) should be just long enough to accommodate the .327 (1.47" overall less 0.055" rim thickness = 1.415").
The only question mark is whether the J magnum frame in the 632-1 is stronger than the J frame, or whether the cylinder window in the J magnum frame was just made longer when the model 60 expanded beyond .38 to .357. Does anyone actually know, not just heard, that the J magnum frame is truly stronger?
