Got a nice deal on this 642PC No Lock. Thought I'd share! Threw some Altamont co grips on. Still waiting for my Tyler T grip and should be ready to rock. Bought it as a travel gun for road trips/classy carry. Also picked up a box of Fort Scott Munitions, kind of interesting but they're 81 grain and are "Tumble On Impact". Ballistic tests look pretty interesting.

I really like these grips. They look great.

My 642-1 doesn't look nearly as nice as your's does. Its been carried for YEARS and been fired tons of times.

It's got all that character going for it though! The first grips with the wood inlays are what come with the PC guns.

Thanks. It was my brother's backup for years when was an LEO.

I really like those stocks a lot. First set I've seen but then I'm fairly new to the gun world.

Heavier bullet weight

That is a great pistol, but I would suggest a heavier bullet weight.
Take a look at lucky gunner.com and the results of their recent .38 and .357 magnum ballistic tests. They give detailed test results for a variety of bullets from both 2" and 4" barrels. Heavier bullets (130-158 grain) perform much better in the 2" barrels.

I did actually see this, thanks for the heads up though. I agree, not very confident in 81 grain solid copper bullets defending me.
