66 grips

Picked up a really fine model 66-8 combat mag. Love it. The stock rubber(?) grips are a tad large for my hands.
Would anyone know of aftermarket grips, NOT wood, that may be a bit smaller than the factory grips? Like Hogues, Pachmyer or the like. I don't carry it, but use it for bedside or camping.

I like Hogue's Bantam Compact grips. They provide a full hand grip but only extend past the frame slightly in the front for your pinky.

I like these. They are a combat design but have a swell in design that still fits my larger hand. Sorry that the picture is not positioned right.

I’ll second the Hogue Bantam grips. I have large hands and they give plenty of grip, and don’t ’stick’ to my clothing.

VZ 320 or Tactical diamond grips. I can't do rubber grips... they feel gross to me and stick in my pocket (even Uncle Mikes) but the VZs are hard G10 and are my second choice after wood grips.

I'm a big fan of VZ grips as well, but I've been pretty disappointed with their ability to actually have anything in inventory for the last half a year or so. I'm not sure if it's because they've got so many large contracts going, or if it's that their G10 suppliers are out of inventory all the time, but the result is it's turning me off as a customer. Hyena brown has been completely out of stock since last year, and they are unable to give any estimate on if it will be returning. Their other colors are not much better...you click on black, green, dark cherry, grey, and they all show "out of stock" the vast majority of the time. They got some green in a couple days ago, but it will be gone within days, like last time. Usually, you're lucky just to get black.

Their website store sells out quickly but they usually still have them in their Amazon store. They seem to keep those inventories separate.

Are the grips that came with your 66 the round butt or square butt? If they are the round... and if they are for sale I'll be happy to biy them from you. Also... regardless if round or square there isn't much out there that is smaller other than the old "magna" grips (panels). You might want to try a set of them with a tyler insert.
