669 mags

Hi all! Just got my first S&W centerfire, an excellent 669. It came with 8 mags, 4 12rounders and 4 15 rounders. I don't care for the way the 15s extend below the grip so should I try to trade them or wait to try the "grip extender" . Don't really need the higher capacity as I have other pistols that fill that role and I like this one for it's more compact size.
So, what would you do? I could not find the " extender" anywhere on Smiths site, are they available elsewhere?
