669 with 6906 replacement frame: "Born on Date?"

Model 669 9mm with a post 1993 round trigger guard 6909 replacement frame. Serial Number TAE6314. I believe the lower half is post 1993 factory replacment.

Then I would say it is a 6906, not a 669.

I would say it's probably a 1985 production pistol (originally), possibly early 1986... It appears almost certainly to have been fitted with a much later factory replaced frame, which was stamped with the original model and serial number. Only Smith & Wesson would have been able to do that....

Then I would say it is a 6906, not a 669.

When I saw it in the case, I thought is was a 6906. WHen I looked t it, though, it was clearly marked "669" with that serial number, which apparently is a correct 669 serial number from 1985/86 from what member "grif684" says.

Thanks for the input guys. I feel very fortunate, as it does seem to be a 6906 frame and action parts.
