686-4 Hunter info wanted

For a number of years I had been longing for a 627 PC Hunter, looking many locations daily. I ran across this revolver on GunBroker and couldn't pass it up. I would have preferred the N frame 627 but the L Frame 686 has always fit my hand well too. I believe it came from Lew Horton and wondering if anyone has an ad flyer on it? The gun came with the numbers-matching box (product code 170079), papers and removable weights. I assume the grips in the picture were not original as there is also rubber grips included.

The gun is unfired, I got really lucky... Any idea of the value? Thanks everyone!

Based upon your revolver's Product Code (170079), you do indeed have a Lew Horton (Performance Center) Model 686-4 Hunter 7-shot revolver. It has the 6" slabside barrel with Mag-Na-Ports and integrated Weaver-style rail. Difficult to date since you didn't include the s/n (could be PCMxxxx?), but the 686-4 Plus was introduced in 1996 and continued to 1997 when the 686-5 was released (20% premium for the 686-4 according to the SCSW 5th Ed.). There may have only been 200-250 of these revolvers manufactured, and my guess is it's probably worth $2150+. I'm also an N-frame fan, but these L-frame revolvers are growing on me! Enjoy!

November 20, 1996 is what I figure. Great piece I have one I honestly thought the going rate for these was $3,000.00+ given they just do not come up much

Thanks for the info. So roughly 28.5 years old at this point. Any idea if these wood stocks were original?

I watched an unfired 627-3 Hunter go for just under $6k last week. Guessing this could be in the $4-4500 range.
