Hi folks!

I’m new to this forum and new to Smith Revolvers. I just picked up a brand new 686-6 Performance Center 2.5” revolver today and can’t wait to bring it to the range. I’m not one for keeping a bunch of “Safe Queens” and I am very much looking forward to bringing it to the range soon! However, The trigger fit/finish (jagged, sharp burrs) leaves a lot to be desired. I was a little taken back by how this got past any quality assurance. In any event, I don’t want to hate on it, but for the price, I would like it to look a little better than it came from the factory. Any recommendations on aftermarket triggers? If I can avoid the hassle of sending it back to SW, that would be great!
Thanks for any suggestions and happy to be onboard here on this forum!

R/S
Mike

It shouldn't affect the function of the trigger (obviously), but I would agree - send it back to S&W. No reason to accept poor quality on a brand new revolver -- especially a Performance Center model.

Thank you all for your suggestions and guidance. I emailed Smith with pictures and now awaiting to hear back from them on how they want to proceed. Thanks again!

Dont blame you at all, someone was sleeping at the wheel there! I have had great luck with them after calling and talking, and e-mailing 'pics...good luck, thats a nice revolver!

Personally, that is something I would fix myself with files and stones. But that's just me and I have a fair amount of experience. Of course if you do that, S&W won't fix it if you bugger it up.
