I got some ahrend grips in along with a pair of altamont grips. Both are great grips. I left the ahrend grips on because i liked the smooth feeling a little better. I hope to use both at the range and decide from there. I also got a diamond d leather chest rig for it. Its called the alaskan guide or something similar. I plan to use my 686 as both a primary and secondary on hog hunts. I have a trip planned in March and i cant wait. I just need some time at the range and see what i can do with her.

Nice find. I've become an Ahrends fan recently. I think you'll like the feel at the range.

I found the ahrend grips on ebay. I got the info from other threads i have read on here. The seller is gripseller i believe. Its nice and easy buying there. Easy to make a payment and you get what you see.

I shoot a 686 with Ahernd's grips. They fit my hand nicely. Think you will be pleased with them.

The only problem I can see with your grips, and I own many Ahrends is that it is like owning a new piece of furniture, you don't want to mess them up. They really do class up a fine revolver. Here little piggy, here little piggy. Good luck on your hog hunt, I had the good fortune of having friends in Mendocino, Calif and got to join them on a couple of hunts. Watch out for the pot growers if your in that part of the country.

Nice I love the red stained maple Ahrends. Get that tiger stripe effect. I have 4 or 5 pairs currently on my guns.

I even dig the little Ahrends J Frame Grip. They are cocobolo, found 'em used on GB for $35. Kim Ahrends just seems to understand ergonomics. I shoot a J frame with his grips more accurately than with any other grip. I can't shoot my M&P 340 this accurately at 25' with any other grip:
