686 no dash with "M" stamped on frame

I just picked up a 686 no dash and when you open the cylinder, on the frame where the serial number is stamped, is also stamped three times, "M". I have never seen this, I'm thinking it means the gun was modified by factory. Can anyone shed any light of the subject?

Smith and Wesson fixed the firing pin bushing, and stamped the "M". There was a problem with primer flow for some folks, which locked up the weapon.....the recall fixed that.

My no-dash hasn't been back for the recall, yet.

It's a good thing - it's been sent back to factory for firing pin and bushing replacement.
