Had one on order for some time and findly got it here last month. Made a few changes to suite myself, polished the cylinder and barrel flats, swapped front sight for fiber optic and a Weigand rear blade. Fits nicely between my PC 627 6.5" and the 627 Pro 4". Only a couple hundard rounds downrange so far, haven't used the moonclips with it yet, very good trigger out of the box.

Handguner356... That is one nice set of revolvers. I have four of the L frames now which include one of the 5 inch short lug guns that came out a few years ago. I do not shoot the N frame guns as well as the K and L frame. But I have always liked the looks of the 627 eight shot with the slab side barrel and often thought that an L frame seven shooter with a five inch slab side barrel would be the ideal belt gun.
So thanks for the reply. Please keep us up to speed as you shoot the gun more on its performance. I do have action work done on all my newer Smiths so I do not mind a little work here and there it is some of the fun of the revolver. Several questions if I may: it shoots with out the moon clips OK no FTF. The front sight is replaceable and it is held in with spring pressure.
I do not like the lock on the new guns and have replaced it with the plug sold here on the forum. I have both lock and non lock revolvers. But I can live with it if it is on a great revolver.
