squared or radiused; are there any other differences in these two pistols. The "round" trigger guard pistol is $50 more and I like the way it looks. The rub is that the "squared" pistols are "excellent" and the "rounded" are "very good".

The square models are the earlier version, and may have an older type of rear sight.

The rounded ones will have the newer Novak rear sight.

Also, it's my experience that holsters are easier to find for round trigger guard 3rd Gen guns, most likely since all 3rd Gens produced in the past 15-20 years or so have had round trigger guards, so there are more of them out there.

Depending on what price you were quoted, you may be able to get a better deal at Summit Gun Broker. He has 6906s for $269 for square trigger guards and $300 for round trigger guards.

6906s produced from the initial run in 1988 to approximately late 1989 will have the older, non-Novak sights. These 6906s resemble the old 2nd Generation S&W 669. Novaks were adopted in late 1989, and the round trigger guard was phased in a few years later.

Also the squared trigger guards seem to have a flat square trigger, the rounded one have a more radiused trigger. I always preferred the rounded trigger guard and rounded trigger.

my 6904 sq. with Novaks from the factory...........love it!
