I`m carrying my 696 - 44special. I have Pachmair grips on it and they print every time they get the chance. I can`t seem to find a thinner panel. What are your 696`s dressed up with for ccw and do you have the print issue ?

Hard to beat Spegels. Novaks usually has some nice ones. Their CS folks are very helpful and will get the grips in hand and talk you through picking out a nice set. http://www.novaksights.com/Grips/craig_spegel.htm#K_FRAME

That`s true beauty. Are the panels thinner than rubber grips ?

Small world...I just noticed where you live. I bought that 696 from a guy who lived on Merritt Island.:) We met at the Sonny's in Titusville for a FTF.

On topic, the Spegel's are thinner. If you take the Pach's off your gun and screw them together that's the size the gun will be with the Spegel's on it. The big thing though is clothing doesn't tend to stick to the wood like the rubber.

And the Spegel's do look nice.:D

Accually, I live in Port Saint John which is a little South of Tittusville. I like the control you get with rubber but it does suck for carry grips.

Burch, rubbers are for.......never mind. ;) I use wood on my guns. The only gun I carry that doesn't have wood grips is my P3AT. My service size revolvers have Altamont magna-style grips. They are thin and don't cling to clothing. The grips BK posted look excellent too.

I had the Altamont grips on my 38spec. and they cracked.

I love Spegel also, but settled for a set of boot grips from the S&W site.

642 w/ Spegels, 696 w/ S&W boots

If you like rubber grips, the Hogue Bantam is thinner and less sticky than the Pachmayr
