On July 5, 1954 a young Memphian by way of Tupelo, MS recorded "That's Allright Mama," for Sam Phillips at Sun Records in Memphis. A few days later a DJ named Dewey Phillips played the single over and over again, Elvis Presley was fixing to become the biggest star the world had ever seen.

And he died during a poker game in the squadron briefing room. He wasn't playing, I was and cleaning up. Put quite a damper on the mood, but not on the game.
