75th Fighter Squadron

My Son is an A-10 pilot (third generation combat pilot, BTW), and these, non-S&W guns were purchased by member of the squadron. There are only 32 of them in existence.

They honor the 75th (Tiger Sharks) and their predecessors, the American Volunteer Group (Flying Tigers).

I'm going to be churlish and say that such a gun should have been a real Colt, in standard configuration, but in stainless and suitably inscribed.

Even Springfield Armory would have been better than whatever this is. At least, they could have provided a GI-type gun.

Sorry to be blunt, but this really raised my hackles. That squadron has a long and honorable history, and deserves better.

That is really nice, I guess your son and his whole group all have one, and who is to argue with any combat pilots.

By the way, you Warrant Officers were a great bunch of guys.

It happens to be what this stellar group of first class warriors decided to get for themselves. I just spent a week at their base after my Son (three tours in Afghanistan) and his buddies got back from their latest foray downrange. When the guys on the ground get into trouble they want to hear a Tiger Shark on the radio. They know how to kill the bad guys. Just ask the special ops people. Perhaps you should bring up your argument in person to the brave guys flying the killing machine down at Moody AFB. They are down there training their butts off right now so they can go back and kill more bad guys. I'm sure they would be happy to explain their decision to you. A word to the wise. They won't care much about your hackles. I'm with labworm: who's to argue.

Fishslayer, the gun pictured is the Super Hawg Hi-Cap. The Chinese had a mystical fear of sharks, hence the shark teeth from the AVG.
