From Feb. 1965 through March 1966 I was assigned to Co. B, 707th Maintenance Battalion supporting 7th Infantry Div. Artillery at Camp Paine.Certainly there are some of you who were assigned to one of the four artillery battalions of the 7th Infantry during that period.
This is my question. I can recall three of the artillery battalions, but not the fourth. Hopefully one of you can help my memory! The units I remember are:
6/80th Field, 155mm/8 inch Towed
1/79th Field, 105mm Towed
4/76th Field, 105mm Towed
The 8inch batteries of 6/80 were transitioning to Self-Propelled during this period.
There was a 4th 105mm Battalion which is the one I cannot remember, can anyone help?
