Beautiful Maine!
My first day out with the new Shield today, loved it, but noticed the rubber sleeve at the bottom of the magazine on the 8 round magazine had a tendency to move around upon ejection... my hand kind of drug on it, causing it to slip upward on the magazine a bit. Not a real problem more of an irritant. Anyone have any suggestions for a glue to secure it in place perhaps??? Or think of any disadvantages of doing so?
Thanks-
Wes

Can't glue it you because then you can't remove the base plate if you had to. It is what it is kind of thing. I don't carry the 8 as a back up anymore because of that.

Dump the 8. They wreck the whole feng shui of the carry experience. It's like putting a huge gaudy CB antenna on the roof of a smartcar...

Base plate slides off the opposite way. It has no effect on the shroud being glued on.

I ordered Talon Grips and there is a grip piece that goes on the 8 round magazine. Does a good job of holding it on, so I guess it's temporary.

Oh, but you can have your cake and eat it too. Just have to use the right type of glue for this application.

Go to any hardware store and buy a small tube of clear silicone. Slide the magazine extension sleeve up on the mag tube and spread a thin layer of silicone on the metal mag body below. Slide the magazine sleeve back down and let the silicone dry.

Silicone dries to a semi-firm rubbery consistency, so it will hold the sleeve in place at the bottom of the mag, but it will not be so permanent that you cannot remove it if you so wish. There's a gazillion uses for this stuff.

Unless you use that 8 round magazine while carrying the Shield I would just remove it. I use the 7 round mag and use the 8 round mag (minus the base plate) for the spare mag.

OR a small piece of black electrical tape near the bottom of the magazine, The tape adds just the right amount of thickness to the magazine so the grip extender fits snug

I don't see it as a big deal. If it is in the gun, it isn't going to move enough to cause any problems. If it is in a mag carrier, it isn't going to fall down any further than the top of the pocket on the mag carrier. I definitely would NOT use glue or any such thing.

Good idea. I'll just keep mine fir range use though.

Use a shim of plastic or something... thin piece of plastic, slide the sleeve down over it so it is extra tight...
