An 845?!

Hi BEGINNER, and welcome to the forum!
You have a very rare bird there! The 845 was Smiths first attempt at building a target .45 and frankly I didn't think any made it out to the public. If I were you I'd call S&W and ask to talk to Mr. Roy Jinks, he's the companys' historian and should be able to give some info on it.
According to my Blue Book of Gun Values it was called the Model 845 Bullseye, was produced for Lew Horton and the last MSR was $1,496
Happy Holidays. Dale

There were 2 different variants of the Model 845, according to the SCS&W III. Both were Performance Center products.

One is known as the Model 845 .45 Limited. Made from 1995 to 1997. First s/n was MPC00XX. They are not marked with their model number. Sold through Lew Horton. I have one of them. My s/n is slightly over 300, so there were likely at least 300 of them.

The other was the Model 845 of 1988, which was marked on the slide. S/N scheme was SDNXXXX. 150 made.

Very nice pistols. You don't see them very often.

One of our members, Grinder, is pretty knowledgeable about 845's. Try sending him a PM. IMHO he's an expert on the subject.

Beginner, welcome to the forum and congratulations. The 845 is a fantastic shooter and very well made.

Hang on to your find - they are a very neat S&W pistol which isn't seen very often.
I have one from the 1st batch and it isn't going anywhere! It is S/N MPC0391. Don't know if they were all consecutive or not.
Made for Lew horton from '95-'97.
