945, SW style 4500/1911 with 1911 styled parts.
both accurate.
845 can be difficult to find. many like the rolling single action trigger. very rugged and accurate
945 is current. very rugged and accurate.
your choice and cant go wrong with either.

While I have not shot an 845 I do have a 945 and regard it as one of my very favorite guns that I own. Very dependable and extremley accurate with my handloads.
I HAVE HAD BOTH A 945 AND AN 845. THE 845 SHOT RINGS AROUND THE 945. SO I STILL HAVE THE 845 AND HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THE 945.

I believe there were two 'runs' of the 845. One was for Lew Horton but I'm not sure if the second run was for Horton as well or not.
The total I believe is only about 400 pieces without checking the S&W catalog.

Yes, there were two runs of 845s: one batch of around 400 in 1995, all with MPC-prefix serial numbers, and one batch of 150 in 1998. The '98 guns had SDN-prefix serial numbers and "Model of 1998" etched on the slide. Both runs were distributed by Lew Horton. Mine, from the first batch, shoots like a dream.
I concur Limey - mine is also from the 1st batch and shoots very well.
Its too bad they never made another run - they were a lot less expensive than the 945's.
