9/11: The Real Heroes are Dead

I've posted this before on 9/11. It's about Rick Rescorla, originally a Brit, a naturalized American, a leader of men, a true 9/11 hero.

Well worth a reread if you've read it before. If you haven't read it yet, you owe it to yourself to read it.

Rescorla was also a hero decades earlier during the Battle of Ia Drang, and his picture is on the cover of the book We We're Soldiers Once... and Young, which is about that battle.

Besides all the lives lost, one sight I'll never forget is watching the people jumping from the windows above the fire. I wouldn't think they would open but I'm sure they found a way.
