There are problems here that we probably will never know. On the surface it would appear the child has mental problems however if he would break the nose of his thirty-six year old mother over being told to go to bed I can't imagine why the authorities would place him with his grandmother who would be approximately sixty years old. Perhaps grandma was a prize fighter!

Even our 17 yo knows better than to try that with my wife.

There are obviously some behavior problems that should have been dealt with a long time ago.

Not enough here to go on, except that the media is more than a little sparse on the details and they're more into the sensationalism than fact.

Mom was 27 or so when she had the kid, so theoretically grandma could be 49 or older. Wonder where the daddy was?

It could also be an overly rambunctious kid horsing around and an overzealous domestic violence policy coutesy of the local PD. Mom dials 911, says her nose is broken and that the kid hit her. All of a sudden the cops are there before the ambulance is looking for an arrest.

Where was Dad? Accident or not, if I had done that I'd be lucky to have lived through the night. Same goes for my kid. As the great Bill Cosby says, I brought you in this world, I can take you out.

Whenever I heard Bill Cosby say this it always had a tad of humor in it. The few times my mother said this, it was very seriously because she said it so matter-of-factly.

But on a serious note I hope this was an "accident" or some kind of horseplay that got misconstruded. Once a kid breaks his mother's nose in defiance I don't think she will ever have control over the kid ever again. Especially if he was rebelling on a simple issue as "bedtime".

Wow, if I ever raised a hand to my mom I wouldnt have been sitting down for a week. What ever happened to giving your own kid a whooping.
