OK:
Long time member but first time posting here.
I have an early PC 945 (0018 sn) that has thousands of rounds through it and suspect it could use a complete spring transplant.
Not sure where to get all the correct ones as the CA S&W source does not stock anything for the 945.
Now I should state the recoil spring is the original but purchased one from Wolff for a 4506 as they appeared similar but am trying to verify compatibility before trying it.
I started to build a spring tester but didn't finish yet. It's only been 10 years so given time ............
One other thing that has me concerned is trigger pull has always been very nice from the beginning but now it is around 2 pounds.
I don't mind the light pull but have experienced a couple unintended double taps and that is concerning.
I may have limp wristed at those times but now have not fired it for several years and am just getting back to wanting to shoot this fine piece of craftsmanship.
I would appreciate anyone who may point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance, Ed
