Hello everyone, I just got a used M&P Pro 9L Core and was wondering if a #1 mounting plate for a Trijicon RMR type 1 will fit a type 2. I didn't get any plates with this pistol so if you have some collecting dust I would like to buy at least one when I decide on an optic. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Once you decide on an optic, you may want to either check the internet or contact S&W about obtaining an Owner's Manual as different plates require different bolts, e.g., Plate 1 uses Bolts provided by Trijicon, Plate 2 uses Bolt B or D depending on the optic, etc etc. etc. Page 45 of the Owner's Manual has a complete listing. For what its worth, I used Plate 5 and the associated bolts to mount my Burris Fast Fire III.

Thanks Rosco. I am leaning towards Trijicon RMR type 2. I just looked up some info on Trijicon's website and found this:
"Does the RMR Type 2 fit the old RMR mounts and holsters?"
Yes, the new RMR Type 2 has identical physical dimensions and mounting foot print to that of the original RMR.

I should be able to use the Smith & Wesson Type 1 plate!

RMR Type 2 & C.O.R.E. Plate 1

The C.O.R.E. plate 1 does not fit the RMR Type 2. I just tried mounting mine. S&W customer service closed until Monday. Hoping they have a plate for the RMR Type 2.
