Hi all,

I took my 9L CORE to the range for the second time and first time with RM07. It's alove-hate relations for now.

1. I'm Happy to say I used 250 rnds WWB NATO and 2 full mags of SD 147gr HST rnds w/o any issues. She handled perfectly about 600 rounds target and SD ammo in 124 gr P, 124gr +P, 134 gr +P and 147 gp P loads between two trips to the range. I'm so happy with the gun I took tactical light off my XDm 9mm 3.8 compact and mounted it on 9L CORE, making it officially my HD gun. Most likely XDm will be sold sometime soon.

2. RM07 is another story. after a very first burst of 4-7 rounds the red dot slowly washed out, increasing in size and just disappeared. it "came" back a few minutes later. But the situation repeated itself a few rounds later before I even emptied my first mag. the remaining 250 rounds were worry-free through - red dot was on and sharp.
I wandering if a possible cause of red dot became large, blur and out of focus weak circle, that eventually disappeared, was a battery contacts?

the first 100-150 shots were way off the target ( about 4-5 inches lower and to the right), but adjustments, but with some adjustment I was able to zero and "master" red dot. My last 50 rounds were mostly dead on. I was feeling that I'm in control of the shooting and slowly making hole larger. I Regret that I took only 5 boxes with me - I would benefit today from another couple of boxes.

3. RM07 did not come with any cover. any one has an advice on how to protect the RDS while not in use?

4. cleaning gun... do I take RMR off for cleaning the slide? What is your 101 on cleaning a gun with RDS attached?

Thank you in advance for sharing your know-hows.

Edit. the user manual supplied by Trijicon has really small font for my aging eyes. I bought a magnification glass today and as able to find all other questions I had.

I just posted about my core and RM 07 sight. I am having problems with my sight as well. Read my post but basically Trijjicon knows about the problem and told me that the mount on the core was causing the problem. I have to send my sight back to them for modification to work on the core. I don't know who I should be disappointed in.

Do you guys have the Trijicon sealing plate underneath your RMR or did you mount it directly to the M&P CORE plate?

I remember reading about an infrequent issue with them shorting out with battery direct contact on the plate. I put a dab of vaseline on the plate before mounting the sight (RMR 06). Trijicon CS was aware of the issue and said that helped some users.

The other questions have been answered. So, I'm going to concentrate on just these two.

You have bought the toughest, most durable optic on the market. Sure, a cover will keep some of the dust off the lens, but you don't really need it. You can literally beat the tar out of that sight without damaging it. You don't have to be delicate with this optic.

Cleaning? Keep the cleaner off the lens. Other than that, just clean as you normally would.

Save your money.
This will not work (at least properly) on a M&P.
The two flanged bosses at the front of the #1 plate don't go into the RMR very far as is, just enough to locate it.
With the shim in place the bosses just barely go in, not enough to properly locate the RMR.
The counter sunk screws might be enough to locate it but I didn't use it on my M&P 40 PC Ported after buying it.

UPDATED INFO:
The flanged bosses are .040" high.
The sealing plate is .012" thick.
That means that if used on a M&P the flanged bosses would be entered into the RMR .028".
J.
