Does anyone use moly lead bullets in their 9mm? I am interested in 124 gr or 125 grain. I have seen the Beer Creek web page and yes they have no bullets. :( Usage is for USPSA competition.

The pistol is the M&P 9mm Pro with 5 inch barrel.

Please send me a private message of any loads used. Thank you.

I plan to get a mold and cast my own. I have used moly on Cowboy loads to insure no leading at higher velocities. Not sure if it worked. I simply appied moly over the lubricated bullet.

I load 124 gr. TC cast lead bullets over 4.3 grs. 231.

They feed and shoot very well in an STI 1911, Smith 3G autos and a Glock 19.

I do not have a 9mm M&P, but I shoot 200 gr cast SWCs in my 45C with success.

Glocks are good guns, but future acquisitions will be M&Ps because of traditionally rifled barrels that safely shoot lead bullets.

I agree with that. My Glock 23 was bought back when there were no XD's or M&P's. I put 4 to 6 thousand rounds of lead thru it before I knew you weren't suppose to :o . And did not know about the "not fully supported barrel. But never loaded it to max in any case. Got a Glock 35 and ended up with an aftermarket barrel to use 140 grain lead TC loaded for production class. :p Then I got a M&P 45. now I'm a convert. Just had to have the 9mm Pro. I am working up a cheap load for USPSA. 9mm. Would have preferred a 40 S&W with a 5 in barrel but settled for the 9mm Pro.

Personally, I use jacketed bullets in my 9mm. However, a fellow shooter uses the 9mm moly coated Billy's Bullets in USPSA and steel shoots.

Thanks TSQUARED. I Googled Billy's Bullets and got the web page. I'll have to give them a call. Do you know what kind of load your acquaintance uses with the moly bullets?

Are we allowed to give loads used? I use a load with a 125 gr zero round nose that is 0.2 grains higher than the one given by Lymans 48th edition for Win 231. However the max load for that bullet weight and Win 231 is 0.4 grains higher on the Hodgon web page than in the Lyman book. So I want to use on the moly bullet 0.4 more of 231 than what jaysouth uses. Which is what I use on the zero bullet. So I have not given any load info. :D
