:) That first reminds me of an old dog I had "Ruff" The second picture looks real good. Thats some nice work. Don

Thanks.

I blasted the parts, Black T did the finish, Gary Dean assembled and tuned it.

It's been a fun project, but my real goal is shooting it a lot.

You certainly know how to make tired looking Colts dress up mighty fine!

Thanks

I guess it's just me, but I like old cars and old guns. And I enjoy making them run good again.

I could've bought a new 9mm 1911, but having a project and enjoying the results gives me a lot more satisfaction.

This gun's 33 years old with a new lease on life.

Maybe I'm just projecting how I wish I ran. :D

[lust mode ON] damn your eyes {did I say that outloud?}....er....I mean ....nice...very nice....

My but those are large diamonds on the grips. Haven't seen those before - where'd ya get 'em?

I think you should start on a .38 Super now and keep working your way up! Nice pistola.

Thats a very nice rebuild/restoration. The 9mm in a 1911 style is loads of fun to shoot and maybe a little cheaper than 45acp. Good job.

Charlie

That is an amazing transformation. Looks tremendous! :) Have to let us know how she shoots.

Thanks!

This better shows the Ed Brown hammer and safety.

Headed to the range this morning to shoot it for the first time.

I think I'll keep all the original parts at least for a while.

And the hammer bite is fixed - Ed Brown beavertail installed

I like it. I have a Combat Commander in .45 acp that would be hard for me to get rid of. I understand how you feel about projects. I enjoy them and don't really care that I usually end up with more in the gun that I can sell it for. A good project can keep me occupied for weeks.

Hey - that's two thumbs up from me!! But I think you need a little more practice...I just happen to have a couple that need work.........;)

Hey Doc, Absolutely beautiful work on an incredible looking gun ! Almost too nice to shoot but I bet you are gonna love putting some bullets down range. Thanks for sharing your fine photos with us, GREEN WITH ENVY, Shoo
