I wondered when 9mm would drop below $10/Box of 50. I just saw a Cabella's ad that lists Herters 9x19 for $8.99. They have S&B for $9.99, Remington for $10.99.

I'm not a shill for Cabella's; I'm sure other places have similar (or even better) prices.

It's good to see ammo is now plentiful, and, if not cheap, at least prices have come back down to earth.

I might have to invest in a 9mm. I've never owned one but have an agreement to buy a M39.

I'm not sure it's worth reloading (especially a 9mm) at those prices.

I'll 2nd that.

I bought some Herter's in 380 during the ammo panic just for range fodder. Bad accuracy, keyholed, and seriously dirty. But it was either that or $35-50/box, so... Still have a few boxes sitting around.

I just purchased Federal "Champion" 115 FMJ RN at the Wichita WalMart for 9.47 a box(50). It has reloadable brass casings, advertised on the box at 1125 fps. Should be good range ammo. Made in USA.

Actually, I get Federal 115 gr at WalMart all the time for 9.47 bx of 50. Have for about a year now. It is excellent range ammo. A "sale" @ 9.99 isn't a sale to me. Cabela's never has the Herters in stock!

I have out around 500 rds of the ($9.97) Walmart Federal 115gr FMJ through my Sigma with no problems. POI is very close to POA! No if I could just get the POA close to the bullseye!:o Not sure why my Walmarts are charging $.50 more!! They come with plastic ammo trays also! Great for reloading! BTW: I can still get my reloads down to about .10 a round buying componets in 1000 at a time. $9.97 will give you around .19 per round.

Around here we see the same thing with WM prices. Stores in Portsmouth/Va Beach charge $9.47 and go 5 miles down the road to Suffolk, and it is $9.97.

Cabela's was selling 9mm MSF back in May for $9.99. They've been dropping down to the $10 mark a few times this year already.

I bought Federal Champion 9mm at Walmart today for $9.99. Saw they also had a 100 count box of Remington .38 Spl 125 JHP +P for $31.XX, seems like that was a pretty good deal, too.

Hopefully, the ammo crisis has passed.

Sounds like prices really are returning to earth, at least for 9mm. Glad to hear it is like that many places now!

The Wally World here (north Florida) never has more than a box or two of the Federal 9mm at a time for some reason. I don't know if it's thier ordering practices or thier supplier. I buy what they have when they have it though.

wallyworld has had federal 9mm for 8.50 locally for 4-5 months now (ask them to look in back). ymmv....nearest cabelas is 4hours from me =\

I belong to the Smith & Wesson range and they wont let you shoot Herters there (or Wolf). I never did ask why, I was just told not to bring it... :/

$10 per 50 = .20 a round.

My cast reloads:
.03 per primer
.01 per 3.9gr HP-38
Boolit cast from wheel weights I buy for $25 per 5 gallon bucket work out to less than a penny each.
The brass I bought ages ago so I don't remember what I have in it but let's estimate high at .05 each.

So around 10 cents per round.

Sure that counts my time as free but there is the sanity maintenance factor of reloading.

When one adds tax and shipping Cabelas is not such a good deal.
Wally world Federal in (9mm and .40) is good at the present.
And their Winchester in .45 is not bad either.
Wish they could get some 10mm in.

Tax is the same for me at Cabelas or Walmart.....they are down the road from each other.

Shipping is free for me at Cabelas or Walmart. Or....folks not local to Cabelas can wait until they get a free shipping coupon in their e-mail from Cabelas.

Either way, I don't see Cabelas being any worse deal than Walmart.
