9mm Shield/ Heavy rough trigger

Has anyone's Shield come with a very gritty and heavy (8 lbs) trigger? This was measured after about 200 dry fires. I did the M&P trigger job with the take up/reset work. Now it is smooth and 5.2 lbs. (Lyman digital gauge). I was very surprised since my friend's fairly new M&P compact has great trigger. My friend also tried it initially, shook his head and handed it back.

Mine felt a bit gritty when I first got it, but after a couple hundred rounds, it smoothed right out.

I don't have a trigger gauge, but as a carry pistol, the weight feels just heavy enough to me.

I'd field strip it. Look for any obvious issues. Dry fire it some and see if it smooths out.

Yep, same here with my 40 Shield. I haven't shot my 9 yet but after a bunch of dry fires it already feels less gritty

It's that "squared-off" edge of the striker block. It will break in a bit after a while. Some come out of the factory worse than others. You can do the apex striker block thing. Or you can polish the trigger bar where it contacts the striker block.

This video shows how to test for a burr in the blocker bore. You may not have this issue, but many have had this problem and the video shows the fix.
