Hello
Most of the 9mm reviews that I did were shot with two guns.
A SIG 365 SAS, with a 3.1 inch barrel and a Taurus G3 with a 4 inch barrel.
First I do forensic exam of the ammunition. Next I shoot a group while chronographing with each gun. 10 yards with the SIG, three rounds and 15 yards with the G3, five rounds. Chronograph is a Oehler 35P
Then the ammunition is shot out of each gun into a 55 gallon plastic barrel of water. The bullets are then recovered, photographed and then measured for expansion. In cases where the bullet fragments and loses its jacket, a weight is taken with all the recovered material and also a weight taken with just the lead core.

Here is the typical, reliable, six pedal expansion from the bonded Gold Dot that they are known so well for. Uniform expansion with near perfect weight retention.
Ammunition is accurate and consistent.
I noticed some black colored adhesive/sealant around the bullet that left a residue ring on the inside of the case.
Recoil noticeable but not unmanageable.
ammoseek.com shows pricing from $1.13 to $1.85 per round. I didn't include the most expensive at $2.07 per round..
Midway shows $1.71 per round.

Speer GDHP ammo is one of the two I consider top-notch 9mm SD ammo. Personally I do prefer the Federal HST std. vel. 124 gr. out of my P365 but the Speer GD load comes very close in performance. Speer is also a high quality ammo company and has always been reliable, accurate and consistent in my testings, (actually same parent Co. as Federal). While I do prefer the Fed. HST, I do have some GDHP in my stash as well.

A little OT, but in our CCW classes in Vegas Speer Gold Dot is the recommended ammo. Why? Because it's what Metro issues. It deflates any low-life attorney who comes at you claiming you used "killer ammo" in a SD shooting.
