I was surprised to learn that the Beretta 92 has a non-steel frame !

Do any of the 9mm come with a steel frame...........
or are they all plastic and aluminum now ?

Figured there would be less slop and wear of the pistol if the slide and frame were both steel?

Otherwise a good 4" plastic gun would be the...?
thanks.

I believe there are some all steel guns in 9mm. Many 1911's are all steel and the Hi Power is probably all steel. Note, many guns with plastic lowers have steel inserts where the slide rides so they actually may outerwear guns with aluminum frames. I believe the Rohrbach is all stainless.

Sig 210 is steel.
H&K P7 is steel.

I like my 210's and my P7's. Good guns. All steel and the P7's make a great beater stick if you run out of ammo. Just don't drop it on your toe.

Browning High Power is all steel, although there are some examples floating around with an aluminum frame.

Several of the older S&W semiautos are all steel, as well as the 547 revolver.

CZ 75/85 is all steel.

There are several 1911 designs in 9mm these days in all steel, as well as some older Spanish (Star & Lllama) designs out there.

Of course, the Luger is all steel, and there are about a thousand others I can't think of right now.

The Browning High Power, the wartime P-38, the S&W M-639 and M-659, the Star Model B to cite my collection. Firing even a hot 9MM from a steel frame is like firing a 38 Special from an N-frame.

Star BM had a steel frame - mine made me yearn for a non-existent 3916. ;) You can get the Kahrs in all steel as well, but . . . well, I'd sure have liked a compact TDA all-steel S&W. Probably never have been much of a seller, tho.

that why i like my sig i feel like im holding something

Sigs are aluminum alloy just like beretta's.The Sig 210 is steel that's it.The Cz-75 is the best steel frame pistol out there still being made.Older S&W and Browning Hi-powers are still out there in great condition .

Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle II is all steel on CZ75 design. Best of the so called clones. Love mine in 40.

If you are in the mood for a 1911 style check out the RIA 9mm Tac-FS. I bought one last year and what a pistol, dead nuts reliable and accurate to boot. For the price it's a good deal. Here's a pic of mine testing my 9mm cast bullets. Good luck in your search!

IWI Magnum Research Baby Eagle II and the Armalite AR-24 come to mind. Both are great shooting 9's in all steel.

Browning HP, German Luger, WW2 Astra 600, Beretta 951 ( 92
predecessor ), various Stars and LLamas. Actually alloy frame models
like the Beretta 92 and Ruger P Series guns are pretty durable. For a 4"
durable "plastic" frame gun the Ruger P95 or Glock 19. The Glock has
metal rails for the slide molded in, the Ruger does not.

I get the appeal of an all steel gun, but alloy is OK too. Doesn't seem to hurt the M39-2's reputation and durability.
