So after a few years of learning how to really shoot i feel like im at a place where i need a really good Semi auto target pistol. Im kind of just past the point of defensive shooting (i think) I have a 22 45 and a 1911 target (too Expensive) and numerous revolvers that are really great shooters. I really want a little higher capacity target only pistol chambered in 9mm. Id like it to be new with a warranty. I have way too many older guns.

Im sure some of you have some nice ones and id like to hear some imput. Please when i say "target" I dont mean a M&P or Glock with fancy sights etc, I mean something with a hammer with a trigger like butter.

THANKS!!!
Oh, and my budget is under a $1000

Some of the S&W PC autos with the bushing....... with a lot of luck and a lot of $$$s you might luck into a 5" or 6"er !!!!!!!!! or

The Sig 210...... has a great rep....

A 1911 pattern in 9mm.........

Sorry missed the "budget" part........

I see Springfield has what I think is a "range officer" in 9mm for around $850 sound like a good one? I have a PC 1911 But .45 is just too expensive for pracrice

+1 to James. The BHP was my first semi auto, & I still love that gun. I've kind of retired it, because I have no idea how many rounds it had through it before I took ownership, & I'm trying to conserve it somewhat. Whenever it does make it into the range bag I enjoy shooting it.

Yeah Ive checked out a couple sigs and I think one I liked was a 226 with adjustable sights

Check out anything made by CZ, their accuracy reputation is well earned...

They feel a lot like a BHP....in the hand..... and have a great rep. If IRC they have a couple of "target/competition" models........

While I like my Browning HPs....... I don't think just adding target sights make a "target gun" !!!!!!

Save up...

I would strongly suggest you save up and get a CZ-75 Shadow Target.... it'll run you a bit over your $1000 limit- but you will find it WELL worth it. I paid just under $1200 for mine from my LGS. This pistol is a product of the CZ Custom Shop- in Arizona, built by Agnus Hobdell and his crew- WELL worth it!!! I would not part with mine for ANY-THING! I added the German Nills walnut target grips- Wow, what a pistol!

Got a pic of this bad boy?

A S&W 952............end of story for me.

The most accurate 9mm I have ever fired with a trigger equal or better than my National Match 1911 Springfield from the late 60's.....

this is NOT a cheap solution but, it is an incredible destroyer of the X and 10 ring ...usually the X ring is just gone...believe it or not it is the most accurate with CCI Blazer!!! Aluminum cased Blazer... go figure on THAT one!!
