Beretta may be my second-favorite brand of handgun. This one came from an estate of a local scientist who bought a lot of guns but didn't shoot many of them. He never got around to shooting this one:

Its like a little time capsule from 1987. The Simpsons was beginning as a series of shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show, Three Men and a Baby topped the box office, we would lose Liberace and R. Budd Dwyer before the year was out, and this little .22 was brought to life in Italy:

The Model 87BB is an 8 shot DA/SA .22 with an ambi-safety. The sights are fixed, with a 3-dot pattern.

It has the classic Beretta look. Its like a baby Model 92, but better.

The only downside is the exotic and nearly unobtainable ammo it shoots. I managed to scare up 50 rounds, and immediately relieved this little gun of its unfired status.

It shot great - no bobbles, the sights were dead on, and the trigger was a delight. Even Randy likes it.

I like those 80 series Beretta guns also. All metal, nice and heavy. Been looking for an 84 for awhile. They are holding their value really well.

I've been trying to order one through my LGS with no luck.

I would love to have one of those but they are about $700-$800 when I find them so I bought a Bersa .22 as a cheap alternative. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet but it looks like it is made pretty well for what it cost.

Are these still being imported? The only version I've seen for sale recently is the target model.

Liberace is dead? Huh. Learn something everyday.

Nice find. I have a 92 but I keep waiting to run across the right 84 or 85.

Nice 87 though. Can you still find ammo for it? ;)

I love berettas! I have a model 87 that I bought new probably around the same time that scientist bought his. I also own 2 model 84s, a tomcat, and several of the older beretta 22cal models.
did I say that I love berettas?
