Added these to the collection recently, I picked up the 22-4 last month, and just got the 21-4 in last night from gunbroker. Ive been carrying the 22 in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake, and have the same holster in black gator skin for the Model 21. Looking forward to shooting them side by side for some compare and contrast work, and hopefully adding a 3rd 4" N frame to the collection with the new Model 20 HD .357.

While not a fan of the 44 S&W Special, I am a fan of the 45 ACP version, the Model 22-4 and have a pair of the 4” barreled ones. But, for some reason, I do not have an image of the two of them together.

I do have a group shot of the two, with some other 4” ACP revolvers I have.

The two revolvers on the top are the Model 22-4s, one is TR, the other is not.

Ive had magnums in the past, incluindg a 3" 629 deluxe and a 4" M29, but I wanted a .44 special gun to see if it had the merits that Skeeter and others preached. Ill reserve judgment until I get a couple hundred rounds down range this weekend. The Model 22 is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I added the Hogue/Miculek grips because the stock panels were beating my middle knuckle up bad. I tried a BK adapter but rhe Hogues just shoot better even if they arent as pretty.

Congrats. I too have a 21-4 and long to find it’s mate 22-4. I enjoy the N frame fixed sight classic revolver.

The 44 S&W Special, 45 ACP and the 45 long Colt are very much peas in a pod. A 250 grain bullet at about 900 fps is the same whether it it 43 or 46 caliber. All three are decent and can do most of what any of us need to do with a revolver. I gave up magnums decades ago when I realized the 45 long Colt (with blackpowder loads) dropped Ohio white tails better than my 44 Magnums with similar hits.

Welcome to the Forum! You made a nice entrance with your Models 21 and 22. After you add the Model 20, you might as well just keep your N-frame collection going by acquiring Models 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 57/58. Oh, and don't forget their stainless steel cousins, the 6's! Enjoy!

Very nice! I love the fixed sights on these guns.

I carry my 4" model 624 daily everywhere I go in the same Simply Rugged pancake holster IWB - very comfortable.

The .44 Special is my all-time favorite cartridge.

22-4 is my favorite revolver. Factory grips long ago replaced with Eagle coke bottles.

My M22-4 sports Shooting Star grips and a gold bead front sight.

Been shooting mine in ICORE every month, I love it. The stubby .45s in a moon clip load so much faster than .38s. I did switch the wood for the rubber, and add a fiber optic front sight.

I have a TRR 22-4. I can't warm up to the gold "tumor" on the 21.
