Today was Colt day at the Big Reno Show. Been looking for a reasonably priced 2.5” Python.
I found a nice 1964, 95+% example for $3K. Just happens to be my birth year. It’s one of the early examples with soft roll marks on the left side of the barrel.

Also grabbed another pristine 3rd issue DS. Didn’t need another, but for $700 I couldn’t leave it behind.

Two great finds!! I have several vintage Colt revolvers, one being a 1980 6" blue Python that Reeves Jungkind did an action job on in 1989. Looks like those vintage 2 1/2" Pythons are not getting any cheaper and the price you got it for seems to be in the normal range these days. I've noticed that a lot of the NIB vintage models are going for at least $5000 and more. Great deal on the Detective Special. I hope that you shoot both. I've never been able to just put one up in a safe and look at it every now and then. Thanks for showing.

Nice. DS's are the one gun I never see locally for sale.
