A family member is getting rid of all their father's guns which were distributed to the kids years ago (who are now in their 60's and 70's). I've been out of the S&W game a few years and not up on current pricing. One is a 70' S&W 10-5 Snub square butt with 99% bluing but has scattered specks from poor storage. The other one is a Nickel S&W 36-1 3" with 99% finish. Both have original boxes and paperwork/cleaning rod and brush. I haven't checked to see if they have matching grips but I have no reason to think it's not the originals. These have been stored away for many years. What would an estimated value on each of these? I appreciate any help.

I'm sure they have not been cleaned or lubed in 20+ years.

My LGS have similar revolvers on consignment for $600 ($450 owners share) and they took a while to be sold. I like nickel plated revolvers but a lot of people do not.

You can post them here. We have a classified section.

I think if you sell on Gunbroker, they will sell for a bit more than the numbers we are floating around here.

The scattered specs on the 10 are a downgrade. Maybe $750 on it. The specs will hurt.

If my memory serves me, the 36 is like 75ish vintage. So, maybe $900ish. I could be low as nickel guns never look this good on Gunbroker. On a good day, it could fetch $1200.

Go to Gun Broker and look at the Completed Sales. That will give you more information to judge what you should do with the guns.

I think raljr1 is about right with his estimates, at least for the market where I shop. Both are nice and having the complete package helps too. I've seen 36s priced at higher than $600 but I don't think many sell where I shop for much more. And snub 10s are usually in the $500+/- range but with the box/papers $700 might be possible. Maybe more on GB depending on who is bidding, but lately might even be less. Good luck.
