A Day At The Office.

Charlie, I appreciate your narrative abilities more than you can know. But damn! The glimpses of the world to which you offer your professional assistance are just so sad I'm sometimes sorry I started reading. Over the years I have had a few neighbors whose control of their environment was not going to reach a minimally satisfactory level on their best day ever, but never have I had to deal with a single person of the likes you get five times a day.

Please keep the tales coming -- but I think I'm going to have to start chugging a glass of red wine or some other socially sanctioned anesthetic before I let myself read them.

Truckemup97,

I am a reserve officer and we are allowed to carry what we want if it is approved by the training officer. The picture was taken about two years ago and I have since gone to a 686 four inch. Never a problem qualifying, scoring in the 240's out of 250. We have about 35 members in the Reserves with 20 or so very active with more work than we want.

I followed the thread about the gentleman being armed saying he would get $8.00 a hour working in a quick stop with many replies saying it wasn't worth it and to get another job. The Reserves do lots of details and go 10-8 on patrol for no pay. All voluntary. The regulars really appreciate us for the help we give them.
I will be 74 on my next birthday.

Charlie,
You have a great writing style and an intelligent attention to detail. It really gives the rest of us an insight into the work you folks do to help the citizens of our communities and to keep us safe. Probably doesn't hurt to have the sense of humor you obviously have. Thanks.
