Attended the Kalispell Gun Show, NW Montana, Last Saturday and found this unusual grip. I like unusual. I have seen a few other grips with brass plates in the past but none like this one. I paid
$60 for them and refinished them yesterday. I add more information below.

About Bear-Butts Grips
S&W K-Frame Custom Grips: Patent #42767029, granted to Robert Bross (July 24, 1928 - February 6, 2009) on July 7, 1981. Robert was the owner of Cap & Ballville Guns Inc. Bolton, Ma 01740. The patent covered a metal Pommel for the butt of a hand gun grip which he called Bear-Butts. He applied for similar patent for a Pommel for an automatic pistol with a magazine, #4592160 granted January 3, 1986. It appears the business was short lived from 1979 to 1986. The grips had his imprint and a serial number. I have seen two that were engraved.
My example is a K-Frame Square Butt Target Grip W/Speed Loader Cutout, Goncolo Alves, Book Matched, Silver Washers with serial number 721 and has a lanyard loop. The Speed Loader Cut Out style grips were produced 1980-1991.
